Shop by concern · Sun care

The step that makes the rest of the routine worth doing.

Daily sunscreen is the single highest-value habit in any routine, and the one most often skipped because the texture is unpleasant. The fix is finding one you genuinely like wearing.

It matters most if you're using anything for dark spots or fine lines — without it you're topping up the thing you're trying to fade.

The short version

  1. Apply every morning as the last step before makeup.
  2. Use enough — most people under-apply by a wide margin.
  3. Reapply if you're outdoors for a long stretch.

Guide · Sunscreen

The best sunscreen is the one you will actually wear.

Mineral versus chemical is mostly a texture and preference question for the average person. Both work when applied properly and often enough.

Korean and Japanese formulas built a following because they tend to be lighter and less greasy than the Western sunscreens many people gave up on. That is a formulation-feel difference, not a protection difference.

The SPF and PA ratings on the bottle are what the manufacturer has tested. We report them as stated and do not make our own protection claims.

Common questions

Do I need it in winter or indoors?
If you're near windows for much of the day, it's worth it year-round. Consistency beats perfection.
Will it break me out?
Some formulas suit some skin. If one causes congestion, it is worth trying a different texture rather than dropping the step.
What does PA++++ mean?
It is the rating for longer-wave UVA protection used on Asian sunscreens. We report what the manufacturer states on the packaging.
